Mom's One Year Tribute
Lexi was born one year ago, on Thanksgiving weekend. I was unable to travel to Utah for our annual Thanksgiving celebration, so my entire family came to me. I thought since my family was here anyway, I may as well have a baby the same weekend to make it worth the trip. After a long day of shopping on Friday, I went to the hospital that night, as planned, to begin the process. Lexi was born the next day. It was kind of a difficult delivery. My oxygen levels and blood pressure were so low it left me extremely tired. I could barely keep my eyes opened long enough to push when it was time. We had a crowded delivery room full of aunts and grandma's and I was grateful when she finally made her appearance. She was so beautiful and she cried so loud! I couldn't wait to get her in my arms. It has been an amazing year with you Lou-Bird and I have loved every moment! HAPPY BIRTHDAY! Love, Mom
Lexi's Big Day
Lexi's 1st Birthday has finally arrived. We had the Balmforth family over for to celebrate and she had a blast. When Joe placed a piece of cake in front of her, she kept looking at us like "Are you sure I can eat this", but after awhile she got the hang of it. I made her a Strawberry Shortcake themed cake with cake pops (another obsession thanks to Adrienne). I thought the cake and the cake pops turned out pretty good considering this is my first time decorating a cake by myself.

Lexi's Upcoming Birthday
I guess its true what they say, once you get started, you just can't stop. I have another recent addiction, (thanks again to my sister-in-law Adrienne) and it is digital scrapbooking. Today, I spent a great part of my day working on my baby Lexi's invitation to her first birthday party. It really should not take over 4 hours to complete an invitation; however, I am still new at it and I will continue to use that excuse until I get faster or become less anal, whichever comes first. Joe was initially a little cross with me when he came home and the house was a total disaster. I am not talking about a simple little mess, it actually looked like a nuclear bomb had gone off throughout the entire house, so I can sort of understand his point. But I didn't have time to clean the house because I was busy making precious memories for our baby's scrapbook. Its not like I can just type something out and email it like he suggested, or call everyone and invite them over like I did with my two older kids. These things take time. Invites need to be created digitally with complicated software and then taken to Sams Club to be developed. HE-LLO! Joe quickly became appreciative of my efforts when I explained that I actually created it myself and that I didn't just cut and paste our baby's pictures in a template. He was so appreciative in fact that when I emerged from my office, I found a very clean house. THANK YOU SO MUCH BABE! So, to show the fruits of my labor, I am posting this very cute, very time consuming invitation.

My New Blog
Well I finally did it. I started a blog. My wonderful and very crafty sister-in-law Adrienne came over today and showed me the ways of blogging. I can't wait to start posting my life for everyone to see. Okay, not everyone but at least those girls that have been bugging me for the last year to post a blog. Thank you so much Adrienne. Let the blogging begin
